Antarctic region marine observations for 1895-1915
Terra Nova 1910-13
Data from The Terra Nova Expedition of 1910-13 were available as a copy of the book "Simpson, G.C., 1923: British Antarctic Expedition 1910-1913. Meteorology Vol. III Tables, Harrison and Sons, London, 835 pp" in the Met Office archives. The weather observations from this book have been digitised and converted into IMMA records. The records are divided into three groups: one from each of the three voyages the ship made to land, resupply, and retrieve the expedition in the three antarctic summers (the ship returned to New Zealand between the trips).
- Data as digitised:
- 1910-11: (Excel spreadsheet,Tab delimited text))
- 1911-12: (Excel spreadsheet,Tab delimited text))
- 1912-13: (Excel spreadsheet,Tab delimited text))
- Script to convert to IMMA format (uses this Perl module).
- The logs contain more weather observations than position records, so positions for some obs are generated using linear interpolation by this script.
- IMMA records:
